I seem to be on a roll with my Christmas cards.
I like the red effect layered under the birds. Posted by Picasa

I think this is going to be one of my Christmas
cards for this year. I was inspired by my trip
to Chinatown. Hence the beads abd the red. I
think I will superimpose the birds onto the beads,
with different images. I spent much of the day
thinking of clever verses that I can write inside. Posted by Picasa

It took a few minutes to find the effect that I
wanted, but I liked the end result. Posted by Picasa

The lanterns started out as a color photo and
transformed to black and white. I have one more
effect in mind for this shot. Posted by Picasa

i shot so many images in China town, I could make
many different combinations. This started as a
salmon colored wall with very cool shadows. I
switched to black and white and added the umbrella. Posted by Picasa

This man was writing script. It was just one
of those impressionist moments. Posted by Picasa

I have been trying to capture a good shot of this scene.
for the past three weeks. It is a tricky one to get.
I see these birds every morning from my car. They
seem very content and safe despite the fact that they
are swimming in a waterway surrounded by Freeways.
Every morning the scene looks a little different depending
on the lighting. I prefer the sunny light glistening on the water,
however I must say that the fog also makes for a mysterious image.
One of these days I will get the shot I want. Posted by Picasa

I have to give credit to my son's friend Nick for
this photo. As I drive around there are several
images that I long to shoot, but due to locality, I
usually opt to pass. For example in the top of this
image is the view from the 4th Street Bridge in
Downtown L.A.. Below is the view of the train yard
from the 710 Freeway. Nick shot the pictures for
me from the car window. I combined them for an
interesting effect. Posted by Picasa

I had the day off yesterday, so I went to China...
town that is. This was probably my favorite image.
The shopgirl got mad that I took it. This seems
like it might be a good pic for this years
Christmas cards. Posted by Picasa

I liked this one better than my last
water image. There is always room
for improvement. Posted by Picasa

Last week flowers were my focus.
This week I woke up with this strong
urge to shoot water. I have always
been attracted, drawn to water almost
as if there were a magnetic pull. It
would be to simple to say that I like water,
possibly more accurate to say that it is
a comforting force in my life. The tide was
very high by our house so I opted for the
channel. I was searching for another spot but
was unable to find it. I think I will return
to the channel some time for more exploration.
For now out to my garden to pull weeds. Posted by Picasa
